Behind butter
butter is a side-project by Joe Richardson. I built it because every new-tab extension I tried was either an ad farm or a kitchen sink. If you go Pro, you're paying for me to keep working on it — every subscriber buys another evening on butter.

Will the free plan stay free?
Yes. The widgets shipping today stay on Free, with up to six on a dashboard. We won’t be the kind of company that yanks free features into Pro after the fact.
What does Pro actually get me today?
Three things. Unlimited AI Inbox — the free plan caps daily triage to one a day, Pro removes the cap. AI Meeting Prep — a one-sentence brief for your next calendar meeting, surfacing relevant PRs and issues so you walk in informed. And unlimited widgets on the dashboard, so the 6-widget cap goes away. New Pro features ship to your account automatically.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yep. Cancel from your account and you drop back to Free at the end of the period — your layout and data stick around.
What’s the deal with Lifetime?
A small thank-you for early adopters. One payment, Pro forever on this account. We might stop offering it after launch.
Where does my data live?
On your device. Cross-device sync uses Chrome’s own sync. We help you connect GitHub and Linear, but we never see your tokens or what they unlock — privacy page has the full breakdown.
Is there a team plan?
Not yet — and not until Pro is solid. No Enterprise tier on the roadmap.
